Michelle’s story hits the media Photo Credit: Facebook
There’s been an enormous interest in Michelle’s story since she’s arrived back in Australia including TV, radio, print and online newspapers. An extraordinary adventure by an ordinary woman…..
After rowing SOLO across the Atlantic Ocean in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge Michelle Lee arrived home in Sydney today. Her comments on arriving in Antigua after nearly 70 days at sea was ‘I’m really relieved to be on land. The isolation was overwhelming (at times) – there has been joy, I’ve been in awe of so many things, there’s been anxious, nervous – I’ve gone through the lot’.
Michelle heads back to her home town of Kellyville to revel in her successful journey with friends and local supporters. She will be resting from rowing for awhile, so she can mend her cut and damaged hands, which were sustained during the 3,000 mile ocean row.
Michelle supports The Sanctuary, The Hills Community Shelter which provides safe, temporary, supported accommodation, for up to 3 months, for women and their children who are escaping homelessness and/or domestic violence. Violence is the reason they are homeless. Please help support one woman by making a donation today.
